Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord operates 14 French catholic elementary schools and 3 French catholic secondary schools in Mattawa, Bonfield, Astorville, Thorne, North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, River Valley, and Verner. These schools offer a continuous French-language program starting in junior kindergarten and going on through to grade twelve. There are over 200 catholic French-language schools throughout the province of Ontario.
Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord’s French-language schools provide a safe and caring environment where children and young adults are treated with respect and given every opportunity for success. High standards are the norm and are reflected in provincial test results. Our students participate in daily physical activity, sports, artistic and cultural events as well as community projects. Technology is integrated into the curricula throughout the grades, starting in junior kindergarten.
Graduates of Conseil scolaire Franco-Nord’s French-language schools pursue their studies in French and in English colleges and universities throughout Canada and the United States. In the workplace, our students are sought after for their strong work ethic as well as their fluency and comfort in both French and English. Our competent, caring and diligent teaching and support staff is committed to the success of each student. Parents who do not speak French are often surprised to find that, with the help of the school, their child is able to meet the expectations of both the French and English curricula. The school provides support to non francophone parents so that they may play an active part in their child’s education and school activities even though they do not know the language.
As a faith-based school system, Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord supports parents who want their children to develop spiritually and to have a strong knowledge of the teachings of Jesus. Our students participate in classes in religious studies and are given the opportunity to express their faith in community service as well as religious celebrations. There are no tuition fees for residents of Ontario.
You are invited to contact one of the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord schools and arrange for a visit. See for yourself how our catholic French-language schools operate and what they have to offer. All enquiries are welcome.
